Poem by Eugene Byrd

Retired English teacher and minister Eugene Byrd often writes poems and posts them on the bulletin board at church. Eula Mae Fox copied his latest creation.

If
Eugene Byrd

If your car breaks down,
Tow it.
If your boat hits a shoal,
Row it.
If your grass is still growing,
Mow it.
If you love a garden,
Grow it.
If you have a bad habit,
Throw it.
If your life is too fast,
Slow it.
If you are blessed with love,
Show it.
If you are filled with light,
Glow it.
If you succeed in the world,
You will know it.
And if I had a better mind,
I’d be a better poet!
